YPD News Release-On January 20th, 2011, Yakima police responded to a report of a bank robbery at the US Bank located at 4106 Summitview. A suspect was not taken into custody at that time, however, physical evidence was recovered at the scene belonging to the suspect. Subsequent DNA analysis of this evidence, a fake beard, revealed a DNA sample sufficient to make a match to a suspect. That DNA profile was entered into the CODIS system. (see below)

On March 16th, 2011, Sheehan was arrested for his role in a Drive-by shooting in the 1400 block of Roosevelt Avenue in Yakima. DNA samples were taken from Sheehan as part of that investigation. That DNA profile was entered into the CODIS system.

During the week of October 17th the Yakima Police Department Detective Division was notified of a DNA match of the evidence from the US Bank robbery and the evidence from Sheehan taken during his March 16th arrest.

Sheehan is in custody in the Yakima County Jail. He will now face additional charges of First Degree Robbery for the US Bank robbery.
