Back to School Already? Say It Isn’t So?

It's back to school early next month for students who attend Adams Elementary School and Washington Middle School in Yakima. The Yakima School district is starting classes 2 weeks earlier this year on August 16th. An article in today's Yakima Herald Republic says other schools won't open until the end of the month. The aim is to have kids in classes longer so they can learn more during a longer school year.
