YAKIMA SHERIFF'S OFFICE NEWS RELEASE-Just before 1pm Sunday an armed robbery occurred at the Suntide’s Market . A male subject approached the clerk, pointed a handgun at her and demanded money. The clerk complied with his demand and he left the store. A witness followed the suspect out of the store and saw him enter a red Nissan Sentra. A second suspect drove the car out of the parking lot while the witness followed in his car. At Mapleway and the Old Naches Highway the suspect car turned East. During the turn the passenger suspect opened his door and pointed a handgun towards the pursuing witness. At this point the witness stopped following the suspects.

Numerous law enforcement officer’s searched the area, but were unable to locate the suspect vehicle.

The robbery suspect was described as a young adult aged male approximately 5-7 with a thin build. He was wearing a hooded gray colored sweatshirt and blue jeans. A mask covered his face.

The suspect vehicle is a red 1991 Nissan Sentra four door with tinted windows. A vehicle matching this description was stolen earlier in the day from Yakima. The license number for this vehicle is ADS5188.
