While sitting in for Dave Ettl on the KIT Morning News with Lance Tormey on Wednesday, I had a chance to explore some musical history with some of our listeners. Now you can do it, too!

Lance found a website on Tuesday that allows you to find out what the No. 1 song in the United States was on the day you were born. Playback.fm has a birthday section that lets you put in the date of your birth (month, day, and year) and it brings up the song, complete with a YouTube video.

Eager to find out what the song was on my birthday of May 8, 1955. I wasn't too impressed with what came up.

With all of the seminal rock and roll that was bubbling to the surface in the 1950s, that's the song that was No. 1 the day I was born at 1:30 a.m. at Yakima Valley Memorial Hospital.  I'll bet it was playing on KIT back then. Lame.

Some of our listeners with birthdays in the 1960s matched up with the Beatles, Beach Boys, and Rolling Stones. I got Perez Prado and his orchestra. Go figure.

Would you like to find out the No. 1 song on your birthday? I can't wait to tell my daughter born in 1996 that the No. 1 song on her birthday was "The Macarena". She'll love it!

That's almost as lame as mine!
