Amanda McKinney Wins County Commission Seat

Amanda McKinney is a mortgage broker in Yakima who has a new job Today. She's the new Yakima County Commissioner in District 1. McKinney defeated Vicki Baker in Tuesday's general election 54% to 43%.
The race on Tuesday looked similar to the primary election race when McKinney garnered 47% to Baker's 35%.
McKinney has a big job ahead to continue to lead the county through the COVID-19 pandemic.
Vicki Baker was appointed in January to the position after Commissioner Mike Leita retired. Leita retired with a year left in his term.
More ballots will be counted in the election Wednesday afternoon.
