Ag News: U.S. Exports to China
**In a pair of tweets Monday, President Trump touted a potential trade deal with China that would mean massive Chinese purchases of U.S. farm exports, stating “practically as much as our Farmers can produce.”
As reported on Agriculture.com, the tweets followed a joint statement that said China would import more American-made products, including “meaningful increases” in agricultural goods.
The administration provided no specifics.

**The U.S. Dairy Export Council, the International Dairy Foods Association and the National Milk Producers Federation have announced a new “Got Jobs? Dairy Creates Jobs, Exports Create More” campaign to spotlight dairy’s contribution to the U.S. economy.
According to agwired.com, the campaign will share stories featuring hardworking dairy farmers, innovative dairy company employees, resourceful retailers and many others throughout the food supply chain at GotDairyJobs.org .
The site will offer monthly features, videos and plenty of hard facts that demonstrate dairy’s continued impact on jobs, tax revenue and communities around the country.
**The U.S. has fallen behind in federal ag research and seed breeding investment. China has surpassed the U.S. in spending since 2008.
To combat low spending, Representatives Mark Pocan of Wisconsin and Darren Soto of Florida introduced the Seeds for the Future Act to the House earlier this year.
