Trump Signs Order to Promote Youth Fitness and Healthy Lifestyles
Are you in good shape? How about your kids? Do you have an exercise routine for your family? If you don't President Donald Trump says you should.
REINSTATING AN OLD TEST
In fact Trump it's time to get kids in shape in America and Trump is making sure that will happen. Trump on Thursday signed an executive order that reestablishes the President’s Council on Sports Fitness and Nutrition and the Presidential Fitness Test which was first established in 1956.

MAKING KIDS HEALTHY AT SCHOOL
The executive order directs the council to put together "school-based programs that reward excellence in physical education and develop criteria for a Presidential Fitness Award." It was first known as the President's Council on Youth Fitness developed by the President’s Council on Youth Fitness in 1956 to get kids into shape. The Presidential Physical Fitness Award was created in 1966.
ANOTHER CHANGE
The test has changed over the years and now it's been revised for kids today. According to FOX News the test now requires a one-mile run, sit-ups, a 30-foot shuttle run, a flexibility test, and either push-ups and pull-ups. If you're a student and you score in the top 15% nationwide can earn a Presidential Physical Fitness Award.
THE COUNCIL IS BACK
The executive order signed by the President restarts the President's Council on Sports, Fitness, and Nutrition. The council will direct and help develop criteria for the award. The bottom line is that President Trump wants more kids to be healthy and in shape to improve lifestyles in the future.
