The 4th of July celebration at State Fair Park in Yakima may be saved thanks to generous donors. Greg Stewart, the President and CEO of State Fair Park was concerned the event would be cancelled this year because the city of Yakima decided not to contribute money from its budget.

So Stewart put out the call to Yakima hoping individuals or businesses would step up and help out. "We've received calls from 2 major companies and a third business has indicated they'd like to put up some serious money."
As a result Stewart says he's encouraged that they may not have to cancel the event. He says State Fair Park is getting lots of calls from people who want to support the event any way they can. He says they'll make an announcement about the event within the next week but he says it looks like the event may be saved and the party will go on at State Fair Park this 4th of July.
