Might be a little warm this weekend for a stroller walk with your little one but if you do go for a stroll when the temperature cools a bit, by all means be careful.  New research shows babies and toddlers are injured in strollers and baby carriers at a surprising rate.

The study by the Center for Injury Research and Policy at Nationwide Children’s Hospital reviewed 20 years worth of data and during that time, nearly 361-thousand children aged five years and younger were treated in emergency rooms for injuries that occurred while in a stroller or carrier.

CBS News reports the injuries happened at an average of two per hour, the majority of which were head and face injuries. About one-third of carrier injuries and one-quarter of stroller injuries were more serious, causing traumatic brain injuries or concussions.

The researchers also found that stroller-related traumatic brain injuries and concussions doubled during the study period; carrier-related brain injuries and concussions tripled.

That's precious cargo on board, watch where you're wheeling!
