Could this be the proof we of modest means always knew was out there?  It’s not what you know, it’s who you know!  Because  considering your college education may put you on par informationally/intellectually with so-called “Rich kids”, THEY are able to turn their richer family contacts into higher pay.

Scientists from some upscale universities -Cambridge University and Harvard University-  looked at the earnings of recent college grads, comparing their background, degree and university. What they found was that all things being equal-- same degree, same institution-- ten years out of college, students whose parents are in the upper income brackets tend to earn a higher salary than do their less wealthy peers.

Sounds like silver spoons serve up some gravy a decade down the road.  Ten years after graduation, wealthy students- those with parents earning in the top 20 percent  found themselves earning $11,000 per year more than those from the bottom 80 percent. AHA!  And even women of privilege aren’t as privileged as the men,
