The Christmas holiday kicked off over the weekend as the cities of Selah and Yakima held Holiday Lighted Parades. Despite the cold weather hundreds of people lined the streets of the city of Selah Saturday night and hundreds lined Yakima Avenue Sunday night for the annual Yakima Holiday Light Parade. Also on Saturday night the city of Sunnyside held it's annual Sunnyside Lighted Implement parade that's grabbed national headlines as one of the most unique parades in the United States. If you missed those parades you still have a chance to enjoy another. On Friday night The city of Union Gap will hold its 2015 Christmas Parade and Festival on Main Street. The parade starts at 6:00 p.m. at the Peppermint Stick Drive In. After the parade hot chocolate, coffee and cookies will be served in the parking lot of the Valley Mall.
