25-Year-Old Woman Dies in Lower Valley Crash
A Friday night crash in the lower Yakima valley resulted in the death of a 25-year-old woman. Yakima County Sheriff's Deputies say Amber Delon of Toppenish was driving along North Meyers Road near Toppenish attempting to pass three cars when she swerved to avoid the truck and drove off the roadway. Delon's Chevy Monte Carlo landed upside down in an irrigation canal in the 1900 block of N. Meyers Road. A Toppenish officer who was the first on the scene of the crash reported at about 7:15 p.m. jumped into the water and was able to reach inside the partially submerged car and pull the woman out. Authorities say she died at the scene of the crash which remains under investigation Today.
