Murder Victim is Identified, 15-Year old Suspect in Custody. Both Have Gang Ties

Yakima Police say witnesses are unusually cooperative regarding last nights fatal shooting in Yakima.   Detectives say a number of people who were at the City Transit Center and nearby residents are giving police alot of information.  This is not usually the case in a gang related shooting.  The victim has been identified as 26 year old Octavio Rangel of Yakima, he is a known gang member and was gunned down near 4th Street and Chestnut after an argument at the Transit Center.  Yakima Police Captain Rod Light says the 15 year old suspect is also well known gang member, he is being held in the Juvinile Detention Center for first degree murder.   Light says police are still looking for a second suspect.
