Summer Travel Season Kicks Off With Higher Gas Prices

How much did you pay to fill up for the long weekend? Average retail gasoline prices in Yakima have risen 2.2 cents per gallon in the past week, averaging $4.21 per gallon on May 28. According to Yakima’s gasoline price website, this compares with the national average that has fallen 3.6 cents per gallon in the last week to $3.65 per gallon.

Including the change in gas prices in Yakima during the past week, prices yesterday were 23.4 cents per gallon higher vs. 2011 and are 19.3 cents per gallon higher than one month ago. The national average has decreased 15.7 cents per gallon during the last month and stands 13.4 cents per gallon lower vs. 2011.
