A big change is coming for students at Saint Paul Cathedral School this fall when the school is at a new location. Officials with the Diocese of Yakima have announced the school is moving to the campus of Holy Family Parish at 56th and Chestnut Avenues for the 2017-2018 school year. The Diocese says the current building at 1214 W. Chestnut Avenue will continue to be used for the  cathedral parish’s religious education programs and some diocesan events. A news release from the Diocese says "Bishop Tyson announced in June 2016 that he had received a recommendation to move the school to the Holy Family campus, due to rising maintenance costs of the old building and changes in student demographics."    St. Paul currently enrolls 172 students from pre-K through eighth grade. Bishop Joseph Tyson says while many details need to be worked out still, making the move now is in the best interest of the school and its mission “We know it won’t be perfect, but as the next year goes along, we’ll understand better what pinches, and what fits well."
