Yakima Woman Injured In House Fire

Yakima firefighters battled a house fire on Mead Avenue Monday afternoon that sent a woman to a local hospital. Yakima Fire Department investigators say the fire was reported at about 1:15 p.m. Saturday at a home at 51 W. Mead Ave. The unidentified woman that was injured was found on the street. She was taken  to a Yakima hospital for treatment.
The fire was contained on the second floor of the home. Investigators believe it started in the attic. Damage is estimated at 30,000. The cause remains under investigation.
