Yakima Tips Off May in a Big Way with a Big Weekend of Things to Do

Thousands of people will visit the valley this weekend for a variety of sports tournaments. John Cooper President and CEO of the Yakima Valley Visitors and Convention Bureau says the largest event is the 27th annual Boys Best in the West AAU Basketball Tournament being held at local school gymnasiums. The tournament involves 230 teams. Other events happening this weekend in Yakima include tennis, golf and horseshoe pitching tournaments. The Gold wing Road Riders Association Fun Run is also planned for Saturday along with a late model Sportsmen race at Yakima Speedway.

Cinco De Mayo celebrations are also planned in Yakima and Sunnyside.
