A teenager from Yakima has won first place in the Wells Fargo Succeeding Together video contest.

The contest celebrates the importance of the organization The First Tee, the impact the game of golf can have in a young person's life and the difference coaches or mentors can make in the lives of America's young people.

Thirteen-year-old Max Turnquist is a longtime participant in the Yakima chapter of The First Tee. His winning video told the story of his life, beginning with the discovery of a congenital heart defect when he was a baby. Following numerous surgeries, Turnquist became a toddling golfer and has never looked back.
