Boeing and the machinists union have reached a landmark deal that would ensure the 737Max is built in Renton. The settlement comes after months of secret and public talks. The deal is expected to bring more work and an economic boost to the Renton area. It may be also bring more work to Yakima.

The GE Aviation plant in Yakima manufactures hundreds of Boeing parts, including those for the 737. Plant employees tell KIMA TV they would welcome and anticipate an increase in production-- which may also bring extra jobs. Plant leader, Mark Sieber, says it's too early to tell. He says that because the GE Aviation plant distributes globally, it may have no affect at all. But, he thinks the future is looking bright for the plant.
