Yakima Firefighters Training To Save Lives On River

Yakima firefighters will be busy on the Yakima river near Sarge Hubbard Park on Saturday. Firefighters will be conducting swift water rescue training all day on Saturday beginning at 9:30 a.m. Each year the Yakima Fire Department trains firefighters on what to do in case a person is either trapped or stranded in swift water. If you'd like to watch the training they say the best access to the area would be the North side of the apple commission building located on South 18th Street.
