Yakima County Commissioners Meeting on Pot

The Yakima County Commissioners this week want to hear from the public as the board considers a ban on the sales of marijuana.

The commissioners on Wednesday will hold a public hearing on proposed land use regulations to ban the sale, processing and manufacturing of marijuana in the unincorporated areas of the county.

The hearing is set for 6:00 p.m. Wednesday at the Holiday Inn on East Yakima Avenue.

The county is taking similar action that the city of Yakima took late last year. The city has banned the sale, processing and manufacturing of pot within Yakima city limits.
