The Yakima County Auditor is joining the County Sheriff as retiring at the end of the year.

Corky Holloway says after 13 years as the auditor, it is time to explore another part of her life.

Holloway says there have been a multitude of changes in the past 13 years. She says one of the biggest changes was switching to a mail-in ballot system.

“Yeah we had chads when I first started. Yeah there’s been a lot of change. But it’s been the best job I’ve ever had.”

Holloway was recently married so she says she looks forward to time off and a visit with her daughter in Australia. She says she will not be filing for re-election, but knows whoever does take over the office will be blessed with a hard-working staff.

Mattingly-Holloway will be on "The Mike Bastinelli Show." Listen today from 3 to 6 on AM 1280 and FM 99.3 Newstalk KIT.
