Yakima Business Owner Honored As Small Business Champion

A Yakima business owner has been honored as Washington's small business champion of the year.

H&H furniture owner Mark Peterson got the statewide award from the national federation of independent business.

Peterson took home the prize out of more than 8,000 members in Washington.

The group's director says Peterson has been a leader among his peers by advocating for small business owners.

Peterson's family has owned the furniture store for more than 40 years.
