To remember fallen soldiers, honor those who serve our country and help teach others the value of freedom, Sunnyside Sen. Jim Honeyford is participating in the annual Wreaths Across America ceremony next week at the Capitol building in Olympia.

Honeyford, along with other dignitaries, will place wreaths in the rotunda in conjunction with the Wreaths Across America nonprofit organization, which was founded to expand the annual wreath-laying ceremony at Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Va., to all 50 states. Wreaths Across America is a national event that involves over 800 locations and places memorial wreaths at over 500,000 graves of U.S. soldiers.

The 15th District lawmaker says the simple and solemn nationwide event will help the public remember our country’s veterans during the holiday season. This year’s event begins at 12:15 p.m. Tuesday (Dec. 10) on the third floor of the rotunda.
