Woodstock 50th Anniversary Planned

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. (AP) — It was a golden moment in music and culture. And now organizers of the original Woodstock festival are trying to get something together to mark the golden anniversary of the event. Michael Lang tells the Poughkeepsie Journal newspaper that talks have begun on staging 50th anniversary concerts in 2019. It won't be the wild, muddy mess the original was. Organizers say the current plans are for a series of anniversary shows in different locations. Woodstock was held Aug. 15-18, 1969, in rural Bethel in Sullivan County, New York. An arts center now stands on the site of the original festival.
