Weekend Politics to report-- from the 3  Yakima County Commission Districts where 159 delegates gathered at Davis High School Saturday representing the county’s GOP.  Attendees worked to develop the party platform and to determine delegates for the state meeting May 18th in Pasco.

A friend of KIT was at the District #3 meeting and he reports among the rank and file republicans, candidate for Governor Bill Bryant showed up to speak as did candidate for Lt. Governor Javier Figueroa.

Headlines from the Seattle Times tells a story that our friend says played out at the county gathering.  The headline --“Cruz forces out-hustle Trump, look to pack Wash. state GOP convention” .  http://www.seattletimes.com/seattle-news/politics/trump-out-hustled-as-cruz-forces-look-to-pack-state-convention/

Out of the 14 delegates selected to go to state to represent the South East lower valley in dist #3, one was for Trump, one uncommitted, two for Kasich and 10 for Ted Cruz.

The take away is that depending on the results of the May 24th state primary vote

, Trump may carry the majority of the state’s 44 delegates to the national convention but many of those delegates will be only too happy to jump to Cruz on a second and third ballot.
