How do you purchase your music? Do you buy CDs? Go online? Or do you buy vinyl?

Apparently, a lot of people are buying vinyl records these days. According to the BPI and Nielsen Soundscan, U.K. and U.S. mid-year music industry reports overall music sales are up by 14 percent in the U.S. and 4 percent in the U.K. Streaming music is still No. 1, but the reports show vinyl's continued climb in popularity and its chance to carve out a corner of the music market.

Nielsen officials say vinyl sales now comprise nearly 9 percent of physical album sales, and they're currently on track for their biggest total since 1994. In the U.S. so far this year, vinyl sales are up 38 percent. In the U.K. sales are up 56 percent.
