Victim Suffers 159 Stab Wounds and Survives

Yakima Police say a 21 year old man who suffered 159 stab wounds in a fight at a Yakima home early Sunday morning is expected to survive. Lt. Mike Merryman says the victim, 21 year old Julio Cesar Zamora-Cortes was together with the suspect, 27 year old Yeuri Acevedo Cisneros at the home on South 4th Avenue Saturday night and Sunday morning. Merryman says the victim was awakened by the suspect who began stabbing him early Sunday morning. 33 year old Yakima Police officer Joel Hansen fatally shot the suspect. The officer has been placed on administrative leave during the investigation.
