  • Yakima Police and animal control officers continue to search for two pitbull dogs that attacked a Yakima man and a police officer in southeast Yakima.

Capt. Rod Light says they're also trying to figure out if anyone owned the dogs but he says it won't be easy.

“The dogs weren’t wearing collars so it’s going to be difficult.”

If the owner could be found, he or she could be held responsible.

The Yakima officer that was bitten is OK and is expected to return to work soon and a 48-year-old man is still hospitalized.

Police killed one dog and shot another. So far however the dog that was shot hasn't been found and another dog is still on the loose..
