Two Wounded In Latest Gang Related Shooting

Yakima police are investigating another gang related shooting. Officers responded to the 1400 block of S. 8th St. and the 800 block of Lafollette St. for multiple calls of shots fired. Two victims were located within a block of each other. The victims stated they were walking in the area and were confronted by a lone possible juvenile male who fired a handgun several times at the victims. The male victim was struck once in the back and the female was struck in the leg. Victims and suspect then all fled in different directions.

Victims were transported to a local hospital where they are being treated for serious injuries.

Currently, this incident is believed to be gang-related.
