County authorities are investigating two carjackings reported in the lower valley over the weekend. The first was reported in Toppenish Saturday night. Police were called to a report of a car theft on East Toppenish Avenue. They found two people who told them a gunman in a dark Honda pulled up next to them at a nearby intersection, pointed a gun and told them to get out of their car. He then drove off.

Early Sunday morning in Wapato a man says he was assaulted and he car stolen. He told deputies he was forced to pull over by a man in another car who was pointing a weapon near Lateral A and Fort Road. When he did, two men jumped from the other car and pulled him from the drivers seat and into the backseat. They then took off and kicked the man out of his own car near White Swan. Police are looking for both vehicles today. No arrests have been made.
