Trolleys Big Part of Downtown’s Future

Five years ago Yakima Trolley's were short on funds and looking for a way to keep rolling. Today, Yakima Trolley's are set to play a major role in downtown.

City officials want trolley's to run in the newly designed downtown and Yakima Trolley spokesman Carl Pastin says it'll be a great fit for downtown.

In fact this week Pastin and other trolley officials are walking Yakima Avenue and talking to business owners about whether they'd like to see trolley's in the downtown area. Pastin says they're hearing all kinds of postive comments many saying trolley's will help bring back the heritage to Yakima.

Pastin says “the trolleys would help set us apart from other cities on the East side of the State.”
