Here's a classic music video for your Saturday!

In the early 1990s, many country artists crossed over to the pop charts with songs that featured relevant lyrics and catchy musical hooks. Their videos also started to show a cinematic quality as well.

One of those artists was New Jersey native Mary Chapin Carpenter. Influenced by groups like the Mamas and the Papas and the Beatles, Carpenter began her career playing small venues in Washington, D.C. She signed with Columbia Records, and did get some airplay. When Columbia decided to market her as a country artist, things took off.

From 1993, this is Mary Chapin Carpenter and "Passionate Kisses."

Enjoy!
