Today is tax day 2016. It's the day when millions of people will file taxes. IRS Spokesman David Tucker says if you need even more time to file taxes fill out IRS form 4868 and ask for an extension. "The extension gives you until October 17th. But people need to understand the extension is an extension to file but not to pay." Tucker says if you owe make an estimation of what you owe and pay that amount. Then make arrangements with the IRS and pay the remainder of the amount over a period of time.
