IKE PLAYERS PRESENT “Annie Get Your Gun” . . . The Ike Players present their final performance in the Ike Little Theatre, “Annie Get Your Gun,” an uproarious western comedy. RIDGEVIEW STUDENT CHESS CHAMPION . . . Drew Henson, Ridgeview Elementary School student, was named the Eastern Washington Fourth Grade Chess Champion after going undefeated at a tournament in Richland this past Saturday. Drew was the third grade champion last year, and is the reigning champ at Ridgeview. He plans on competing in the Washington State Elementary Chess Championship in Vancouver this April. IKE BOWLERS HONORED . . . Three Eisenhower High School bowlers are ending the season with League and State honors. Megan Walls was named Big 9 Bowler of the Year and finished 7th in the 4A State Tournament in Tacoma last week. Walls has bowled for Eisenhower for three years and represented Ike at State all three years. In addition, Felicia Murray was named 1st Team All-League and Lilly Waldon was named 2nd Team All-League. DAVIS QUARTET EXCELS AT REGIONAL COMPETITION . . . Congratulations to the A.C. ROTARY SCHOLARSHIPS NOW AVAILABLE! . . . The Rotary Club of Yakima 2013 Academic Scholarships are now available. Each scholarship award is $2,000 and eligibility requirements are: (1) academic performance; (2) citizenship/leadership exhibited in school; (3) citizenship/leadership exhibited in the community; and (4) a student statement re importance of citizenship/leadership. Eligible students must be enrolled at Davis, Ike, Highland, LaSalle, Naches, Riverside Christian, Selah, Stanton Academy, or West Valley. Home-schooled students or Running Start students within those same districts are also eligible. This award is to be used at a post-high school institution beginning in the fall after graduation from high school. Applications are available in the high school counseling departments or by visiting www.yakimarotary.org. All applications need to be postmarked by Friday, March 15.
