Demolition of a downtown Yakima landmark began today. Heavy equipment started to knock down Track 29.  The nearly 30 year old shopping mall which featured a boardwalk, old rail cars and western style store fronts.

The mall closed this summer after efforts to sell it failed.  Court  appointed bankruptcy trustee Matt Anderton started  the demolition.  For now the plans are to turn the
site into a parking lot.
