Pacific County Man Guilty in Trooper Shooting

 Martin Jones, of Seaview, Wash., was sentenced today in Pierce County Superior Court to 50 years in prison for the attempted murder of former State Patrol Trooper Scott Johnson.  Jones shot Johnson in the back of the head on Feb. 13, 2010, as Johnson was impounding the vehicle of Jones’ wife who had earlier been arrested for drunken driving.  Johnson survived the injury and was elected Pacific County Sheriff in November 2010.
