Yakima County Auditor Charles Ross on Thursday released the unofficial results showing the hand recount of 40,843 ballots resulted in a change of 1 vote between the candidates.
Auditor Charles Ross says on Monday the Yakima County Canvassing Board will meet to review the results and vote totals to make sure every ballot has been counted.
Yakima County Auditor Charles Ross all the races showed that every vote counts. All total Ross says there was a 34 percent turnout for the election, well above the 25 percent he had predicted before the general election.
Yakima County Auditor Charles Ross says hand recounts will be conducted in the three races on Thursday, December 5. If any race is tied after the recount the winner is determined by a coin toss. Ross says he doubts however if a coin toss will be needed on Thursday.
