Fort Hood Shooter Could Face the Death Penalty

The Army has announced that Maj. Nidal Hasan will be tried in a military court and is eligible for the death penalty for his role in a 2009 shooting spree at Fort Hood in Texas.

An attorney for the former military psychiatrist, who's been charged with 13 counts of premeditated murder and 32 counts of attempted premeditated murder in connection with the deadly rampage, wanted capital punishment taken off the table.
