Once again this year the city of Yakima is partnering with religious and nonprofit organizations to make sure homeless people have a warm place to stay.
Earlier this year council members talked to local car clubs about the cruise nights and requirements needed before deciding to vote on the issue next Tuesday.
The council took action after local car clubs met with the city earlier this year about the rules or the ordinance that banned cruising along Yakima Avenue.
On Wednesday Wapato City Council members gave the go ahead to city leaders to settle lawsuits and tort claims and they also called for a freeze in hiring and expenses.
The council cut positions like the city administrator and took a unanimous vote of no confidence in the mayor. The council also decided on a new twice a month meeting schedule.
