Sunnyside Business Wins $10,000

Danise Cathel says she and her husband Bob are excited about the future of their Sunnyside business Spring Harvest Fiber Mill.

Danise and Bob Cathel are the winners of the $10,000 business plan competition by Yakima's New Vision.

Denise Cathel says the competition helped them realize they have a bright future.

”This competition really pushed us to think about other ways we can expand and showed us we have the support of the community to make the leap and ad some more services.”

The company turns animal fibers into yarns that are sold at the company store located at 2361 Schoon Road in Sunnyside.

The second place winner of $5,000 was Active Life Chiropractic and the third place winner of $2,500 is 4 Seasons Fresh a company that has developed a sustainable food system.
