A Medal of Honor recipient from Yakima who died in WWII will be honored in a special ceremony on Saturday. Sgt. Jack James Pendleton was 26 years old when he was killed in WWII. He was awarded the Medal for actions he took to save his fellow soldiers. The special dedication of a light on his grave will be held at 10:30 Saturday morning at Tahoma Cemetery. Pendleton is the only soldier from the area awarded the Medal of Honor.
