Seven Arrests Made in Seattle Protests

Seven people were arrested during protests in Seattle over recent grand jury decisions not to indict police officers who killed young black men in Missouri and New York.

Several hundred people marched downtown Saturday to Seattle Police headquarters to protest the killings of Michael Brown in Ferguson, Missouri, and Eric Garner in New York. Authorities said a group then split off from the main protest and tried to get onto State Route 99 on the Alaskan Way Viaduct. Police say some protesters threw rocks at officers who blocked them from entering the roadway.

Police say five people were arrested for assault and two for pedestrian interference. All were to be booked into the King County Jail.
