Rotary Scholars Announced

The winners of the 2014 Yakima Rotary Scholarships have been announce.The Rotary has been awarding Academic Scholarships to graduating local high school seniors since the formation of Yakima Rotary Charities thirty-three years ago.
This year the members of the Academic Scholarship Committee received 64 applications to review, evaluate and score. Each applicant was graded on their academic performance; school and community leadership; citizenship; a personal essay; and two letters of recommendation. Thirty-six applicants were interviewed. Here are the winner of the $2,000 scholarships and which school they attend:

The students will be honored at the Rotary meeting this Thursday at the Yakima Convention Center.
