The Rock Creek fire burning on the Naches Ranger District for the past two weeks is now 100 percent contained. But officials with the district say it's not out. The Prescribed Fire and Fuels Manager Jason Emhoff says the fire won't be completely extinguished until the rain and snow starts later this fall and winter. "That's really the only way we do with these large fires, feel comfortable that we can say its out just because there's a lot of interior fuels that never burned. It's not safe to put people in there and it's not necessary." At one point nearly 500 firefighters were on the fire lines. The cause of the fire that started earlier this month remains under investigation but since there's been no lightning investigators say it was likely human caused.
