The recent credit breach of Yakima Regional Medical and Cardiac Center and Toppenish Community Hospital should push you to check credit and bank accounts.

That from Pat Neighbors the Chief Operating Officer for Solarity Credit Union in Yakima.

Community Health Systems the corporate of both hospitals is reporting a major breach of information of 4.5 million patients. Neighbors says if you are concerned, you need to watch everything that has your name and money in it and on it.

Pay attention to what’s going in and out of our savings and checking accounts. Pay attention to retirement accounts and pay attention to simple bills like your power and light bill.

And Neighbors says if you are still getting your bank statements in the mail, you could be vulnerable since your printed statements may be sitting around the house or in the mailbox. She suggests online banking as a way to protect yourself. And she's recommending that if you are very concerned about identity theft you should consider an identity theft service.
