Among all the talk about presidential politics these days the Yakima County Auditors office is preparing for the upcoming Presidential Primary in Washington State which is set for may 24. Auditor Charles Ross says they're working to make the ballot easy to understand. He says unlike other election years this year the only issue on the ballot will be the Presidential Primary. So he says
"You have to check the box that says you're a republican or a democrat and then you have to vote for a name that's in that party and then send your ballot in and wait for results."
He says if voters forget to sign the ballot or if they mark Democrat and select a Republican candidate the vote will not count. The military ballots will be sent out in early April with other ballots sent to Yakima County voters in mid April for the may 24 Presidential Primary. If you aren't yet registered to vote your deadline is may 16.
