A survey by the Pew Research Center last year found that six in ten American Catholics favor women being ordained.  Don’t hold your Holy breath.  The Clinton camp may want wholesale changes for Catholics but Pope Francis says that question has been asked and answered.

The New York Times reports the Church's stance is that the priesthood should be reserved for males because Jesus chose 12 men to be his apostles, while critics claim that was simply a reflection of the norms for the time.

"Norms" or now, either way, good Catholic girls who dream of saying mass one day may want to get fitted for a nun's habit, instead. Pope Francis revealed to reporters during a news conference that the Roman Catholic Church's ban on women joining the priesthood will be "forever" and cited a declaration by ST. John Paul II that was written back in 1994.
