Yakima's effort to fight cyber crime got a boost from a local retailer. Last month, the police department's forensics computer crashed. The forensics computer helps detectives go after anyone committing crimes using the internet. This week, the West Valley Walmart donated a replacement. Detectives say, when it comes to catching cyber criminals, it's all about speed. The only downside in fighting cyber crimes is that no sooner do police upgrade their systems, than the crooks do the same. Even this new computer will soon have a hard time competing with the technology used by most seasoned criminals.
