As fires in California continue to burn firefighters are reaching out for help. 15 firefighter strike teams from the state of Oregon along with heavy equipment from that state are on the way to Ventura County Northwest of Los Angelos.
Joe Smiley from the Washington State Department of Natural Resources tells KIT News they’re ready to help if they get a call for officials in California. “We’ve got some limited crews standing by if they do call.”
The biggest and most damaging of the fires is the wildfire in Ventura County. The fire nearly burned to the Pacific Ocean Tuesday night after starting earlier Tuesday afternoon.
